Iota Iota Alumni Advisory Board Update (2018)

Last summer you received a message about risks facing the MSU Pike chapter. Following that, many joined our Alumni Advisory Board helping guide young men at MSU on many accomplishments including:Iota Iota Alumni Advisory Board Update

• Successfully fulfilling city sanctions which had posed chapter risk

• Creation of formal goals for the chapter

• Establishment of bylaw amendments and a formal judicial board that has served its purpose

• Creation of a new brotherhood room in the house and also improvements made to the outside

• Eboard attendance at National workshops and 10 Alumni Board meeting calls

• Creating a more selective Rush process

• Participation in local charities and successful fund-raisers

• Multiple athletic championships

• Solid academics

It was a milestone year for Pikes. Today I had lunch with chapter President Al Gonzalez as he aims to increase momentum this Fall. This includes even stronger brotherhood bonds and winning a chapter award from Nationals. It was also nice to hear Nationals recently issue our Board with the ‘Alumni Association of the Year’ award which shines more positive light on Iota Iota.

We have another Board meeting this summer for alumni to reconnect and share ideas/resources. Until that is set, a sincere thanks goes to everyone helping this worthy cause. Since last summer, nearly 40 solid Pike alumni stepped up including Tom Aubrey who was recently featured in Shield & Diamond, Mike Barber who’s been a fantastic Chapter Advisor and so many others who generously gave their time to make a real difference.
