Alumni Association Update (2015)

I'm sure most of you received an e-mail from the chapter, but I just wanted to relay the message via our alumni group so everyone is aware of the golf outing details this year.  Please see below.

Second, please again if you want the excel list or have updated contacts, send those over ASAP so I can continuously update our list, we have 250+ right now thanks everyone for the help!  I've sent the list to nationals so they can update the main database we have with them.

The chapter is really looking for some alumni support!  Attached are photos of a recent very GENEROUS donation that has helped them completely renovated the basement, they have taken down two of the walls in the basement that used to be the pool room and an empty room and created a "Brotherhood Room" equipped with five 50" flat screen TV's, brand new furniture, and pool table for guys to hang out in.(PICTURES BELOW)  Hopefully we can utilize this and have an alumni-active get-together after the golf outing.  The chapter room has also recently been renovated, with more pictures to come.

The goal is to raise $40,000 this year to fix some serious plumbing issues the house is having, renovate "Bucko" the fire truck, make the house handicap accessible for one of the new initiates, (which includes fixing the elevator), and get everything  at the chapter house up and running to its fullest potential.  I'll be working with the chapter closely to start brainstorming some ideas on how to relay where the chapter needs help and visually show our alumni this.  If anyone has experience in this type of fundraising please reach out and let me know!

Remember this isn't all about just soliciting our alumni for money, this is about bringing our historic chapter together and creating a network of elite men together.

Links to donate and pay for the outing are below as well.

Best,

Alumni Association

To the Alumni and parents of The Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity,

This year the PIKE Alumni Golf Outing Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, April 11th at Timber Ridge Golf Course. For those who have never attended the golf outing before, it is an 18 hole-four-player scramble followed by a banquet dinner.

This event not only is a great way to reconnect and meet the active members, it is a necessary fundraiser. Our chapter goal is to raise $40,000 this year. The money raised will go into our chapter’s housing improvements fund. The house is facing serious plumbing problems every year and will eventually need an estimated $20,000 to properly fix.  In addition, one of our new initiates is handicapped, and it is one of our top priorities to get the handicap ramp and elevator operational. Our contractor estimates this could take $15,000. We also plan to insure and replace the windshield on the historical centerpiece this house prides itself on: the fire truck.

There has been $50,000 dollars of renovations to the house in just this year. In order to continue making the chapter house that this Fraternity needs, we require the help of our alumni and parent organization.

Details regarding price and course location can be found in the attached document. Payment for the outing can be easily paid for via credit card by visiting the links below or mailing a check to 213 Ann Street, Apartment 301, East Lansing, MI 48823 (please make checks out to ““The Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity Iota Iota Chapter”).
